A Brazilian-Infused Celebration in Somerset: Camile & Alex’s Colorful home WeddinG
When a wedding combines Canadian-Brazilian flair with the laid-back charm of the English countryside, you know you’re in for something special. Camile and Alex’s celebration at Alex’s family home in Somerset was joyful, vibrant, and packed with personal touches that felt like a true reflection of them! Scarlet Rose Events expertly pla, every detail spoke to their outgoing, warm personalities and their desire for a fun, relaxed day.
Camile’s Brazilian roots were front and center throughout the festivities, starting with over 100's homemade Brigadeiro (Brazil’s beloved truffle's) made by Camile’s mum. These sweet treats formed a showstopping spread on the dessert table, adding both a personal and cultural touch. A lively samba band set the tone for the day’s energy, while a Brazilian-inspired wedding breakfast complete with plantain curry and spicy biquinho peppers, gave guests a taste of South American flair right in the heart of Somerset.
Before the outdoor ceremony began, Camile and Alex opted for a first look. This is a practice thats not found too often here in the UK, being much more common in North America, but it perfectly suited to their easygoing approach, and their desire to have a moment to themselves. It felt intimate and relaxed, a chance to soak in each other’s excitement before exchanging vows. The highlight of their wedding ceremony had to be a group sing along to Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten,” which had everyone joining in under the open sky. The afternoon soon became the cocktail hour where guests mingled, sipped drinks, and enjoyed the summery surroundings. And once dinner was cleared, it was time to kick off the dancing, and this crowd didn’t hold back! As if a samba band wasn’t enough to get people moving, the night wrapped up with a silent disco which ensured the party could continue into the small hours, without disturbing the peaceful countryside.
From the homemade sweets to the lively music and every joyful moment in between, Camile and Alex’s wedding felt like a genuine celebration of cultures, families, and friends coming together. It was the perfect balance of relaxed countryside vibes and bold Brazilian flavour, a day that reflected everything special about these two and the life they’re building together. I had the most fun shooting this wedding; there's something so special about weddings at home, the mood is extra relaxed, and the energy is extra high as people feel free to truly let go and be themselves.
Enjoy,
