Tuscan Vinyard Wedding
Le Filigare is one of the most amazing wedding venues I've ever been to! Hands down just completely stunning from every direction. Nestled upon the top of a hill in Chianti overlooking an ancient village immersed in the beautiful landscape of the Tuscan countryside, this winery is bursting with Italian charm and tradition. With its sweeping landscape, rows of olive trees and even an on site pool, it makes the most incredible location for an authentic feeling Italian wedding.
From the moment I started speaking to Abi and Mike about their wedding plans, I knew that we were a great fit. They decided they wanted a real focus on emotion and their time with all of the beautiful guests they'd invited out to their Italian wedding. Documentary photography was something they were very keen on. They were lots of fun, high emotion, and a desire not to take things too seriously, exactly how I love my couples.
I was kindly invited to stay at Le Filigare the evening before the wedding, attending their pre wedding pizza party! Pizza in one hand and camera in the other, I was in my element. The morning of the wedding we had a group breakfast followed by bridal prep at the bottom of the hill with a great big window to enjoy all those Tuscan hills in the distance while they had hair and makeup done. Their wedding ceremony overlooked the landscape again by Le Filligare's pool. This was shortly followed by copious amounts of antipasti, Aperol and laughter. The Italians love their food, and the Antipasti spread was out of this world.
After their poolside reception, we headed up the hill past the olive groves to enjoy dinner under the canopy of lights. Food was first, and I was generously treated to the many pasta courses and wine from Lefilligare's own winery! I enjoyed being told by the Italian staff that the "Cake is King" and a huge deal in Italy. Something I didn't quite grasp until the cake came out was the biggest I've ever seen. Speeches followed dinner, and the huge cake cutting came after that. Before we knew it we were dancing well into the night As with any destination wedding, I'm there for it all and loved partying along with Abi, Mike and all their wonderful guests.
If you're planning a Tuscanny wedding or lucky enough to get married at Le Filligare, I'd love to hear from you.
