Luxury Yorkshire estate wedding venue
Middleton Lodge is a luxury Georgian estate wedding venue set in 200 acres of rural North Yorkshire. Weddings at Middleton Lodge Estate have a unique and perfectly private setting for weddings of all sizes! It's truly a fantastic luxury wedding venue with so much versatility. You can enjoy wedding prep in one of Middleton Lodge's many cosy cottages or their stately main house. Then say "I do" in the main hall, the boiler bar (like Kate and Jon) or outside on their Pavillion during summer months.
After your wedding ceremony, you and your guests can unwind in one of the most beautifully restored walled gardens I've ever seen, followed by a wedding breakfast and an evening of dancing in Middleton Lodge's uniquely beautiful Fig House or under a tipi canopy. Middleton Lodge's grounds are so versatile that no two weddings are the same, making Middleton Lodge Estate quite possibly my favourite Yorkshire Wedding venue!
Jon & Kate had the most wildly gorgeous wedding day at Middleton Lodge. They enjoyed an incredibly intimate ceremony with just their very closest friends and family, followed by lawned reception with the rest of their guests. You could easily mistake it for somewhere else in the world in the high heat! There was so much laughter and love between everyone here that it was just a joy to shoot. I hope you enjoy looking through this Middleton Lodge wedding as much as I enjoyed photographing it.
Intimate Yorkshire wedding ceremony
Middleton Lodge has so many places you can choose to hold your wedding ceremony! Kate and Jon opted for a small intimate ceremony in the boiler bar, with only their closest family witnessing the vows, including Jon's brother tuning in virtually from Australia. After their first look, they also chose to walk into their wedding together, something tradition bucking that I love.
Walled Garden wedding party
The fully walled victorian gardens at Middleton Lodge Estate are the perfect place for a summers day wedding reception. Kate and Jon chose to have their friends join them after their small ceremony to celebrate post "I Do". Their wedding gets enjoyed acoustic music, champagne, and canapés on the lawn while congratulating the newlyweds & soaking up the sunshine surrounded by the smell of sweet lavender.
Victorian fig house wedding breakfast
The dining space at Middleton Lodge is a sight to behold. The perfectly lit Fig House begs for long trestle tables full of greenery. The Fig House, better known as an orangery originated in Italy and became popular in 17th-19th century England. An orangery is a room or a dedicated building on the grounds of a large residence where orange and other fruit trees can be protected during the winter, acting as an effective form of greenhouse or conservatory. Of course, these days, they've often been repurposed at wedding venues due to the fantastic amount of natural light they give. You can enjoy all the feelings of an outdoors dinner or ceremony while being safely tucked away from the elements. The Fig House at Middleton Lodge is a stunning example.
Picture Perfect Yorkshire wedding venue
The tranquil gardens and grounds of Middleton Lodge Estate are some of the most well kept and photogenic that I've ever seen; on a sunny day, the light falls in all the right places, and colour bursts throughout the walled garden. It makes for the most fantastic post-wedding breakfast stroll for some couples' portraits. We can take a little time out, just the three of us and my camera, to enjoy the incredible nature before heading back for the evening.
Post-dinner dancing & fireworks!
After Wedding portraits, you can arrive back to freshly lit log fires! And as the day turns to night, Middleton Lodge starts to light up differently, transforming the mood of the wedding as the party gets ready to start! After a quick cake cut and dance, you can treat your guests to a firework display from the porch of the Fig House. I loved this Middleton Lodge wedding and can't wait to return!
