The beautiful Pentre Mawr Country House stands in the foothills of the Clwydian range in Wales. Found just 45 minutes away from Chester, it is perfectly situated for couples from Merseyside, Cheshire and, of course, Wales itself. Unlike many country houses, there's nothing stuffy about Pentre Mawr. It's been in the same family for over 400 years, but more recently, it has begun hosting weddings. The venue itself feels exclusive while being easy-going and relaxed for couples, meaning couples can enjoy the nearly 200 acres of Welsh meadows, parks, and woodland it has to explore during their celebrations.
Grace and Jonathan, from Liverpool, Merseyside, were already married when they contacted me about their special day. However, they proudly prove that even when life, work or children change your circumstances, there is always time to revisit or reimagine a wedding ceremony with a vow renewal. Pentre Mawr Country House is perfectly framed in the shadows of the Welsh Clwydian Hills and made for their friends and family to enjoy beautiful surroundings. The highlight for me was the family-oriented atmosphere projected not only from Grace and Jonathan but also the venue itself; I may have even been roped into some selfies with the kids testing out their cameras when they came to find me during dinner time.
