Best of 2024 Documentary Wedding Photography
It’s hard to put into words just how much this year has meant to me. After a whirlwind few years packed with incredible milestones and nonstop energy, 2024 was about something different: slowing down, being more intentional, and pouring even more of myself into every wedding. Focusing on fewer couples this year has been such a rewarding shift. It’s given me the space to form deeper connections, create more meaningful work, and truly immerse myself in the joy, care, and trust my couples have shown me.
This year, I’ve been lucky enough to travel from the lakes of Grasmere to the cliffs of Clare Island, and so many beautiful places in between. The year began in March with Samantha and Charlie at Manor Mews in Norfolk, followed by Rachel and Lewis at Liverpool’s Town Hall. By summer, I hit peak travel season, heading from Holly and Louis's colourful celebration in London to Kate and Tom’s adventure at the Coniston Copper Mines (a venue I’d been dying to shoot at for ages!) I even had the privilege of photographing destination weddings in both France and Ireland.
One highlight I’ll never forget was capturing Elodie and Brian’s story—not just once, but twice. First, deep in tge hills of Elodie’s hometown in Southern France, and later along the Irish coastline where Brian grew up. Being invited into their lives in such a personal way and documenting these monumental chapters was an absoloute honor. That kind of trust is something I’ll always be profoundly grateful for.
This job isn’t just about photographs; it’s about the people. The ones who open their lives to me, invite me into their most cherished moments and trust me to preserve them. The couples who make me feel like part of the day rather than just an observer. The care they show me and the effort they take to include me never goes unnoticed—and it means the world.
Another unforgettable moment this year was being named Wedding Photographer of the Year (North West Regional Winner)! Although I couldn’t attend the awards in person because I was at a photography conference (the annual Nine Dots Gathering) I found out about the win while surrounded by industry friends. Hearing the announcement and sharing that moment of celebration with them was absolutely surreal. This recognition was such a meaningful affirmation of the creativity and care I pour into my work.

I was also lucky enough to have been invited to speak publicly about my work this year at Raptor Club, a photography retreat in Yorkshire. I was asked to stay and talk with a host of incredible photographers, which was an incredible experience. I always love spending time with like-minded creatives and sharing my personal take on how I see the world. Next year, I've been invited back to speak at the annual Nine Dot's Gathering, so I can't wait to write a new talk to present in 2025.
2024 has been slower, yes, but in all the best ways. It’s reminded me why I love what I do and left me feeling inspired and grateful as I look ahead to 2025. To every couple I’ve worked with this year: thank you. Thank you for letting me witness your memories, for trusting me to capture them, and for making me feel part of something truly special.
Below are a few of my favourite moments from the year. I hope they bring as much joy to you as they brought to me. Here’s to everything 2024 has taught me, and to all the magic waiting in 2025.
Enjoy,
