A Relaxed and Intimate Wedding at Longlands at Cartmel
Nestled in the picturesque countryside of the Lake District, Longlands at Cartmel is a stunning wedding venue that offers a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern sophistication. The venue features a beautifully restored barn with exposed wooden beams, a spacious lawn with panoramic views of the surrounding hills, and luxurious accommodations for couples and their wedding guests.
The area surrounding Longlands is steeped in history, with Cartmel Priory just a stone's throw away. Founded in the 12th century, the priory is a magnificent example of medieval architecture and boasts a rich history that includes links to King Henry VIII. And it was here in Cartmel Priory that Imogen and James exchanged their vows in a beautiful ceremony, surrounded by the stunning Gothic arches and stained glass windows, as well as their friends and family.
After the ceremony, the couple left in style, driving away in a vintage Jaguar Type 1 with James at the wheel. We returned to Longlands for their wedding reception, where their guests enjoyed drinks and canapes in the beautiful gardens. It was such a lovely relaxed atmosphere in the gardens, with guests mingling and chatting while overlooking the magnificent views before sitting for their wedding breakfast of Pie and Mash from Pieminster.
Before the evening party started, we took a short stroll to take in the beautiful sunset over Cartmel Fell. It was the perfect moment to take a moment and reflect on the day before jumping into the evening celebrations and finishing up with a big slice of pizza.
Enjoy!
