High energy, happy, fun wedding in Lorton Valley

New House farm is a completely cool and low-key wedding Venue that dates way back to 1650! The little gem of a wedding venue is nestled between the villages of Buttermere and Lorton; it's also just a short drive from crummock water, making for a spectacular photo backdrop. The area surrounding New House Farm is renowned for its abundance of scenery, wildlife, history and culture! This makes the wedding venue perfect for couples that want a mix of character property and scenery. The barn is a blank slate for dinner decor, while the hayloft is an ideal place for guests to enjoy panoramic views, as you say I do in the lush lake district scenery.

"Hey Joe, where you going with that ring in your hand?"

Hannah and Joe are my kind of pair, so much fun, happy, high energy, big love and no sweat for the small stuff. Hannah was actually a bridesmaid at one of my weddings in the past! Originally she did have a friend set to capture her day. But after seeing some photos and spending the entire day with me, she sent me a hurried and enthusiastic email soon after her friend's wedding saying, "please tell me you're available!" The stars aligned, and it was meant to be. The guest even commented on the day to say he was happy I was there instead of him so he could relax and enjoy their wedding. It was so overwhelmingly lovely to see a bunch of guests from a previous marriage and learn more about Hannah and Joe. Photographing past guests' weddings makes my heart happy, it's really one of the best feelings.

But enough about me! Back to Hannah & Joe, their day consisted of; their ceremony in the stables, a bbq dinner on the lawns, speeches in the barn, and surprise musical performances by friends. They also had; sack races, football games, temporary tattoos, all the pizza you could want and finally a sparkler send-off after sunset. They really couldn't have planned a better day to suit their energy! Big shout out to the couple for doing so much DIY, too, Joe is a graphic designer and made the signage, and Hanna is a badass crafter (literally, she owns Badass Craft Club).

Enjoy,
