Lake Windermere wedding day with scenic views

Storrs Hall is a magnificent Grade II* listed Georgian mansion house set on the shores of Windermere. Steeped in history and retaining many original period features. Storrs Hall sits directly on the shores of Lake Windermere – England's largest lake, in a landscape designated both a National Park, and a Unesco World Heritage Site. It's an incredibly stunning location for a wedding! Storrs hall sits in over 17 acres of private lush green grounds overlooking the lake, giving fantastic picturesque views for a wedding right along almost the entire length of Lake Windermere and its overlooking mountains.

Storrs Hall is one of the most idyllic venues in the Lake District for a wedding celebration. It's an elegant venue choice for both large and small weddings with plenty of lush green gardens for wedding photos.

Wedding photographs overlooking the shorefront

Storrs Hall boasts several beautiful places to have photos overlooking lake Windermere. There's the Pavillion where you can hold your ceremony on a summer's day. Most notably, there is The grandly-named 'Temple of Naval Heroes', which stands at the end of a narrow causeway that leads from the grounds of Storrs Hall out into the water. This offers magnificent views up and down the lake. The temple was constructed by Sir John Legard of Storrs Hall, serving as an ornament to the new house he had buit at the end of the 18th century. It's a beautiful place for wedding photographs, and you could quickly be fooled into thinking you were marrying in an Italian destination setting.

Finally, the newly built boathouse also lines the shore, here you can enjoy the sunset by a firepit. It's also the perfect place to stay for a minimoon after your wedding day.

Lakeside ceremony followed by a glorious sunset

Jenna and Rob enjoyed a gloriously sunny wedding day with just 15 guests, who certainly made it feel like 50. The high energy was, for lack of a better word - infectious. Huge smiles were had during their intimate lakeside ceremony, followed by drinks on the lawn, some tear-jerking speeches, and a round of drinks watching the sunset outside of the boathouse. I hope you enjoy their wedding story below.
