The perfect place for a lake district micro-wedding
Askham Hall is an utterly gorgeous wedding venue tucked away in Penrith (Cumbria). This Grade II listed house is described as "A luxurious, intimate, unpretentious home from home" Askham hall's estate venue has truly gorgeous gardens, even in winter! As well as a beautiful wedding barn and dramatically lit rooms to cozy up with wedding guests by the fire. Honestly, I don't know how more to sell it. This is one of my favorite places in the lakes to tie the knot!
Postponed & finally married
Victoria & Richard had planned to marry in summer 2020 before postponing and deciding to downsize to a micro wedding. They were so happy they did though, the wedding was incredibly intimate and a shining example of how to downscale and not miss out on any of the fun.
Their wedding day had a late ceremony for winter 2.30pm, so they decided to do things a little differently, including getting ready early and having a first look/ some photos taken pre-ceremony. They had already decided they were walking down the aisle together (which I love!), so they would see each other pre-ceremony anyway. Knowing this, we decided it would be nice to take a special moment with a first look! And also make use of the short winter daylight. After the ceremony in Askhams medieval hall and a quick run through some confetti, the sunset on us all as we tucked ourselves away into a festively decorated, intimate room for some of Askham Hall's delicious roast dinner.
I am so proud to wrap up my 2020 weddings with this one. It's a beauty!
Enjoy x
